What is campbell industries?

Campbell Industries was an American aircraft manufacturer based in San Diego, California. The company was founded in 1935 by David Campbell and specialized in the design and production of military and commercial aircraft.

During World War II, Campbell Industries produced a range of aircraft for the United States military, including the P- 39 Airacobra, the P-63 Kingcobra, the P-47 Thunderbolt, and the XF-85 Goblin.

After the war, the company shifted its focus to the production of civilian and commercial aircraft, including the Grumman F9F Panther and the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II.

In the 1980s, Campbell Industries diversified its business into marine and aerospace engineering, providing services to the Navy and other customers.

However, the company eventually ran into financial difficulties and filed for bankruptcy in 1987. Most of its assets were bought by General Dynamics, which later became part of the defense contractor, Lockheed Martin.
